RESUMO

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of the enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) combined with drug on social function and efficacy in patients with depressive episodes, so as to provide references for the treatment of depressive episodes. MethodsA total of 66 hospitalized patients who was in hospital at department of psychiatry of the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, met the criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition(DSM-5) diagnosis of depressive episode or bipolar disorder depressive episode from May 2019 to March 2020 were included by simple random sampling. The participants were divided into study group (n=36) and control group (n=30) according to the random number table method. Both groups received conventional drug treatment, and the study group recieved the EECP intervention at same time. The Depression symptoms and social function were assessed before and after treatment by using Hamilton Depression Scale-24 item (HAMD-24) and Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS). Treatment efficacy of the two groups was compared. ResultsAfter the intervention, the HAMD-24 and SDS scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (t=8.149, 5.791, 8.016, 3.488, P˂0.01). And the SDS score of the study group was siginficantly lower than that of the control group (t=-3.008, P<0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (90.63% vs. 63.33%, χ²=8.725, P˂0.05). ConclusionEECP therapy combined with drug has better efficacy on the patients with depressive episodes, and it can improve social function effectively.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the specific changes and correlations of sex hormones and lipid metabolism in overweight and obese boys aged 9-12 years.Methods:Seventy-two male subjects (9 to 12 years old) were divided into normal weight group ( n=42), overweight group ( n=15), and obese group ( n=15). Plasma sex hormone levels and lipid levels were detected by chemiluminescence immunoassay and ultra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/QTOF/MS). All data were analyzed by multivariate statistics analysis. Results:(1) The serum concentration of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) in obese group and overweight group was significantly lower than that in normal weight group, and the serum concentration of SHBG in obese group was significantly lower than that in overweight group ( P<0.05). The serum concentrations of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in overweight and obese group were significantly higher than those in normal weight group ( P<0.05). (2) There were 171 kinds of differential lipid compounds between normal weight group and overweight group, 218 species of differential lipid compounds between normal weight group and obese group, and 34 species of differential lipid compounds between overweight and obese group. Among them, 150 kinds of lipid compounds in normal weight group were significantly different from those in overweight and obese group. (3) SHGB was positively correlated with phosphatidyl cholines (PC) (20∶0/0∶0) and PC[18∶1(9E)/0∶0]( r=0.6, P<0.05), DHEA was positively correlated with diacylglycerol (DG)[17∶2(9Z, 12Z)/22∶0/0∶0]( r=0.5, P<0.05). Conclusions:9-12 years old overweight and obese boys had early growth and development, but sex hormone levels were not synchronized with growth and development. The serum DHEA level in overweight and obese boys was significantly increased, while the level of DG [17∶2 (9Z, 12Z)/22∶0/0∶0] was significantly increased, and the serum SHGB concentration was significantly decreased, while the vast majority of PC was significantly down-regulated. The mechanism of these changes needs to be further studied.

RESUMO

In psychiatry, observation of the patients is often an important basis for making a diagnosis during clinical practice. However, changes in emotional facial expressions are often subtle and difficult to detect. For this reason, automated facial expression recognition can be used to assist in identifying mental disorders. Facial expression is one of the important ways of emotional expression, and strong similarities of basic human facial expression are not affected by cultural background or congenital blindness. With the development of computer science, facial expression recognition methods are also constantly improving. Among them, deep-learning-based facial expression recognition approaches, with their powerful information processing capabilities, highly reduce the dependence on face-physics-based models and other pre-processing techniques by using trainable feature extraction models to automatically learn representations from images and videos. This article focuses on the progress of facial expression recognition system in the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia, depression, borderline personality disorder, autism spectrum disorder and other diseases. This article also explores the application of facial expression recognition technology in the field of psychiatry and remote psychology intervention.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect of adenovirus-mediated IL-24 (Ad-IL-24)gene expression on the apoptosis in a human squamous cell carcinoma cell line COLO 16, and to explore the underlying molecular mechanism. Methods Cultured COLO 16 cells were divided into two groups to be transfected with an adenovirus vector carrying the IL-24 gene (Ad-IL-24 group)or green fluorescent protein (Ad-GFP group), while those receiving no treatment served as the control group. After culture for different durations, qPCR was performed to quantify IL-24 gene expression, methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay to evaluate the proliferative activity of COLO 16 cells, flow cytometry to detect the apoptosis of COLO 16 cells, laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) to observe the morphological changes of COLO 16 cells, Western blot to determine the levels of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins and to evaluate the activation of caspase-3, qPCR to determine the levels of Bax and Bcl-2 mRNAs, an immunofluorescence assay to observe the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins. Statistical analysis was carried out by a two-sample t-test with the SPSS 19.0 software. Results MTT assay showed that the proliferation of COLO 16 cells in the Ad-IL-24 group was significantly inhibited as early as 4 days after the transfection; thereafter, the inhibitory effect increased in a time-dependent manner, and peaked on day 6(P0.05). Flow cytometry revealed that the apoptosis rate was significantly higher in the Ad-IL-24 group(13.10%± 0.92%)than in the control group(3.69%± 0.36%, P0.05). LSCM demonstrated that the apoptosis of COLO 16 cells was accelerated in the Ad-IL-24 group. The immunofluorescence assay, Western blot and qPCR all showed that the mRNA and protein expressions of Bax were increased, but those of Bcl-2 were decreased in the Ad-IL-24 group compared with the Ad-GFP group and control group. Moreover, Western blot showed a protein band that could specifically bind to the anti-cleaved caspase-3 antibody in the Ad-IL-24 group, but not in the Ad-GFP group or control group. Conclusions Ad-IL-24 can induce apoptosis in human COLO 16 squamous cell carcinoma cells, probably by up-regulating Bax expression, down-regulating Bcl-2 expression, and activating caspase 3.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the association between health related quality of life (HRQoL) and severity of depression in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).@*METHODS@#Short Form 36 Health Survey Questionnaire (SF-36) was administered to 103 MDD patients at the baseline and 6-week follow-up. Hamilton Depression Rating for Depression (HAMD) and Clinical Global Impression (CGI) were administered at the baseline, 2- and 6-week follow-up, respectively.@*RESULTS@#All SF-36 component scores in the 6-week follow-up were significantly higher than those at the baseline (P<0.01). The overall and subscale scores of HAMD except weight and CGI scores at the 2- and 6-week follow-up were significantly lower than those at the baseline (all P<0.01). The role-emotion score of the clinical remission group was significantly lower than that of the non-remission group. After a 6-week antidepressant treatment, all SF-36 component scores in both groups were significantly higher than those at the baseline, except body pain in the non-remission group. While scores of role-physical, general health, vitality, social functioning, role-emotion and mental health were significantly higher in the remission group than those in the non-remission group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). A higher overall score of HAMD, scores of cognitive disturbance and CGI were significantly associated with a worse SF-36 at the baseline (P<0.05 or P<0.01). After the 6-week treatment, a worse health transition was significantly associated with higher scores of HAMD and sleep disturbance at the baseline (P<0.01), a worse general health and role-emotion were strongly associated with higher score of anxiety/somatization at the baseline (both P<0.05). Score of general health was positively associated with reduction rate of cognitive disturbance at the 2-week endpoint (P<0.05) and scores of vitality and reported health transition were positively associated with the reduction rate of sleep disturbance at the 2-week endpoint (both P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The increasing severity of depression was significantly associated with a worse HRQoL in patients with MDD. A 6-week antidepressant treatment may result in comparable HRQoL improvements. The components of HRQoL vary with severity of various symptoms of depression at the baseline and their early improvement after the treatment.

RESUMO

Objective To analysis the victim's help-seeking behavior of domestic violence. Methods Using a multi-stage sampling strategy,306 victims of domestic violence were randomly selected and face-to-face interviewed. A self-designed help-seeking questionnaire of domestic violence was administered. Results 33.7%victims felt nowhere to seek help. The three leading helpers they seek were the other family member (34.6%),neighbor and friend( 17.0% ) and community office ( 12.5% ) ,and the community office had highest prevalence of effect (71. 1% ). The prevalence of seeking help from other family member and Women's Federation were highest in urban victims (P<0.01) ,and seeking help from community office was highest in rural victims (P<0.01). The three leading helpers were other family member (27.3%) ,community office ( 15.8% ) and neighbor and friend ( 10.9% ) by male victims, and other family member ( 38.0% ), neighbor and friend ( 20.0% ) and community office ( 10.8% ) by female victims. The prevalence of seeking help from neighbor and friend was higher in female than in male ( 20.0% vs 10.9%, x2 = 3. 980, P< 0.05 ). Adult victims seek help from other family member were less than children and the elderly (31.6% vs 42.0% and 46.9%, x2 =5.993, P<0.05),and the elderly seek help from community office were more than adults and children (28.1% vs 12. 1% and 4.0%, x2 =9.930, P<0.01 ). The victims with higher level of education were with higher prevalence of feeling nowhere to seek help (47.8%). Seeking help from other family member and community office were most in victims with lower level of education( 38.5% and 24.0% ,respectively) and were least in victims with higher level of education ( 17.4% and 0,respectively, P < 0.05, P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion Help-seeking behaviors of victims of domestic violence are varied by geographic settings, age, gender and education levels.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Neurasthenia is commonly believed attributing to the complex influence of psychological, social and biological factors.OBJECTIVE: To probe the correlation of neurasthenia with personality, life events and the positive rate of serum Epstein-Barr (EB) virus.DESIGN: Case-controlled observation and prospective paired analysis.SETTING: Mental Health Institute of Second Xiangya Hospital Affiliated to Central South University.PARTICIPANTS: From May to October 2000, patients with neurasthenia, selected from the Clinical Ward of Mental Health Institute of Second Xiangya Hospital Affiliated to Central South University for medical treatment,19 males and 11 females, with mean age of (27±8), the course of disease ranged from 0.5 to 20 years with the average of 4.0 years, enrolled in this study. According to 1:1 paired principle, 30 matched volenteers, their relatives, or students of Xiangya Hospital were randomly selected as controls. Two groups were matched in age, sex and education, patients with psychological and physical disease were excluded. All participants were given written informed consent.METHODS: The level of serum EB virus IgG and IgM of two groups were determined by using ELISA methods. Blood samples were colleted before and after treatment in experimental group, while blood samples were only collected once in control group. Patients in experimental group were given routine medication and integrative psychotherapy according to their state of illness, and Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ) were filled in before and after treatment (including four dimensionalities: neuroticism, psychoticism, extroversion/introvision and lie, amongst which higher scores for extroversion/introvision dimensionality represented extroversion and lower dimensionality represented introvision; higher scores of neuroticism dimensionality suggested anxiety and worry. Higher scores for psychoticism suggested solitude and inadaptability to the outer environment), life events scale (including the total score for life events, positive events value and negative events value), and symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90) (consists of 10 factors scored of 0-4, representing non-symptom to severer symptom) were used to assess the clinical symptom. EPQ and SCL-90 were adopted on patients at four months after treatment for self-comparison. EPQ and life events scale were taken on healthy controls, the scores compared with that of experimental group before treatment.for EPQ, the total scores for SCL-90 and positive rate of EB virus in patients with neurasthenia before and after treatment.RESULTS: Totally 27 patients were followed up at 4 months after treatment, and 3 cases lost due to long distance from hospital, thereby 27 cases in experimental group and 30 cases in control group were remained in the roticism in neurasthenia group was significantly higher than that of control group (57.59±10.79, 40.58±8.68, t=6.536, P < 0.01), scores of extroversion/introvision were obviously lower than that of control group (46.31 ±10.79, 53.50±11.28, t=3.203, P < 0.01). In neurasthenic group, scores for neuroticism was obviously decreased after treatment in contrast to before events scale: The total scores and negative scores in neurasthenia group was significantly higher than that of control group (19.73±17.25, 18.93 tal scores for SCL-90: The total scores for SCL-90 was obviously declined after treatment comparing to that of before treatment in neurasthenia of EB virus IgG and IgM: The positive rate in neurasthenia group was significantly higher than that of control group (76.67% vs 26.67% );and positive rate of serum EB virus were proved to be two important pathogenic factors for neurasthenic patients.CONCLUSION: Patients with neurasthenia possess susceptible personality, such as neuroticism and introvision, and commonly experienced negative life events before illness. Moreover the positive rate of EB virus in neurasthenic patients is higher, which might be associated with the higher glucocorticoidinduced EB virus activation under stress state.

RESUMO

Objective To study the relationship between the low level lead exposure of pregnant woman and the gestational age of fetus. Methods The peripheral blood and the umbilical blood samples were collected from 1 000 healthy puerperants and their newborns. The puerperants were divided into three groups according to the blood lead levels: very low-level group(0.483 ?mol/L). Results The rate of premature labor was 9.40% in the very low-level group, 14.07% in the low-level group and 23.81% in the high-level group respectively. The blood lead level of puerperants had a positive correlation with the umbilical blood lead of newborns. The umbilical blood lead of premature was higher than that of mature. As the blood lead level of the pregnants increased, the gestational age shortened and the probability of low age premature increased. Conclusion As for the toxicity of lead to the fetus, there is no a threshold. Low level lead exposure of the pregnant woman is one of the causes of premature labor.
